Today I want to tell you about something special.

Before I do I want to tell you I jumped on this one immediately – it’s that good.

So, onwards.

I’ve said, on many occassions, I’m happy with having the bills paid, food on the table and a little extra for creature comforts.

Keeping that in mind…

One thing you’ll find I’m sure, as I have, is how most people online try to sell you the dream of making the big bucks and living a life of luxury for ever more.

However, no one seems to talk about petty cash… you know… the everyday expenses we all have.

The type of expenses we might need to cover here and there.

The type of expenses we need to have cash for all the time.

I’m talking about the odd $100, 0r $500… or… even the odd $2,500.

It could be we need to raise a litte money to pay the bills you’ve just received… and realised you’ve just run out of cash.

It could be that brand new HD TV you’d love to get your hands on.

Or, maybe you need a break and would love to go on a vacation.

What do you do in those situations?

Well, you need a system you can use to raise that type of cash now… today.

I’ve gotta tell you, though, you shouldn’t watch this video if you’re a whiner.

Sorry to put it so bluntly, but that about the easiest way I can think of putting it.

Who is a whiner?

It’s the guy who keeps complaining about how everyone else is making a mint and not him.

If the whiner actually likes to complain, he’s gonna be sorely disappointed with these videos as there’s nothing to fuel his whining there.

These videos tell it like it is and it’s drop dead easy.

You should also avoid these videos if you like to make excuses about why all the gurus make money and not him.

As the the whiner, the excuse maker will find nothing to complain about with these videos.

Picture this – you’re a runner who’s just been selected to compete for your country in the Olympics.

The problem is, you can run the 100m sprint and the mile – you’re world class at both events.

You wait for them to tell you which one you’ll be running in but the news doesn’t arrive.

Which event do you prepare for?

Anyone who knows anything about running will know you can’t prepare for both at the same time, especially at such a high level competition.

So it’s not only advisable, but absolutely essential that you know which even you’re being entered for so you can be properly prepared.

What’s the point of this?

Only this – you have to have a clear goal to succeed in whatever it is you’re doing, or intend to do.

If you know you’ll be running the 100m sprint you know you will need to be able to run at maximum speed over the whole distance.

So you will need to train for speed and strength.

If you’re running the mile you will need to train more for stamina, with less emphasis on stength and speed than for the 100m.

What it boils down to is the fact that you need a clear goal to succeed in your event.

Once you know which one you’re going for you can then focus your energy on the correct method of training to achieve the goal you’re after – winning.

Short and sweet as I just wanted to leave you with a little something before I go away again for another week in London.

This is for me, and me alone. Peter Drucker

I was at the first day of Drayton Bird’s Direct and Interactive Marketing course today.

The content was packed solid.

And I had very little sleep last night, so am feeling like my head’s full of lead.

Anyway, I thought I’d post at last one bit of gem I picked up… or rather… had it reinforced into my already crammed head.

Here it is…

When emailing someone, or sending someone a letter, word it so the receiver — your prospect or customer — thinks…

How nice of him to think of me

Also, communicate often, as you would with a friend – the more you communicate with people the better the job you do.

Show their point of view in your letter, not yours - be interested in them.

And remember, you have to WANT to help them – that’s got to show through in your writing.

That’s enough for today… I need some sleep.

There is only one reason for advertising a product or service — to make sales.

Not to win awards or applause, or the approval of the luvvie crowd.

And the way to do that is to find out what your prospect’s problem is, and then give him the solution to that problem.

If you want your readers to understand your copy, write it in the language they speak every day, in their conversations — so says David Ogilvy.

Don’t say things like –

  • engage next-generation functionalities, or
  • enhance killer web-readiness, or
  • monetize visionary technologies, or
  • leveraging webinars to sell services

Or any bullshit like that…

No one wants to know how clever you are.

They just want to know what your product will do for him or her.

And they want details in language they can understand.
